1月14日 Why Blog?We have had quite a long run. This blog space and I. It has been done and redone numberous times. I have often thought of deleting it all together, because let's face it, since Myspace and Facebook and the hundreds of other blog sites came along, MSN Spaces just isn't that popular and it seems that no matter what they do, MSN just doesn't have what it takes to compete with them. Why do you think that is?
I personally don't like Myspace. It's too much like an internet dating site. Who's friends with whom? Who has the most friends? Who's got the sexiest picture on their profile? Give me a break!
I didn't join these spaces to see how many friends I can add to my profile. I have a Myspace page that I don't use. I can't even remember my password. I signed up because I thought it would be a good way to let family and friends from afar know what was going on with me and The Boy. Funny thing is, I don't think any of my family and friends blog, so I'm pretty much doing this because I'm a nobody with no life to speak of and (occasionally) extra time on my hands. And I like to write. While I feel writing on a blog is very impersonal (especially since there is no way to mark the entries "Private"), it is easy and my hand doesn't get cramped up.
So, I'll keep blogging because I have nothing better to do. Not that I don't have classes to study for or a child to take care of or a job to go to. Anyway, you get the idea. This is my time to step away from the demands and just spend time with me, myself and I. 1月9日 Just found outOnce Franklin Covey, my new, wonderful temporary job is over with the busy season, they will not be retaining my services. While my attendance and punctuation has been superior (Thank You!!!), my call stats were not what they were looking for. So, I have maybe 2 weeks remaining here, then I don't know what I'm going to do. Just thought I would let you all know. I'll keep you posted. 1月4日 I am a GeniusThe Boy doesn't like going to school. Since I am not home in the morning to make sure he gets on the bus, he simply makes the decision not to go and when I get home, he lies and says he had a great day at school and there weren't any problems. He even makes up assignments that he did (He's a great story teller, I tell you). Then, I get a call from the school...You may know the call
So, I asked him "How come the school is calling? I thought you said you went to school today." "I did," he said. By the time he finally told the truth, I was furious. I have been dealing with this for months and I'm sick of it. I thought the solution would be to drop him off in front of the school at 6:30 in the morning on my way to work. Now, before you start thinking I am insane, let me tell you... School starts at 7:30 and I thought there would be teachers there. HA!!!. But that is another issue which I will not go into on this blog. So, he has to take the bus to be sure that he doesn't freeze to death waiting to get in the building. Here is my solution. I hope like hell it works and if I stick to my end of the bargain, it should. He likes to go to this chat site for teens called "Zwinky." I only know a bit about this site, so don't ask me to explain it. Anyway, if he goes to school everyday, he will get 2 hours of "Zwinky Time" on Saturday. In order for me to know that he was in school, he has to bring home a tracking sheet signed by his teachers. If he misses ONE tracking sheet, I don't care if he was in school, he gets NADA because as far as I know he didn't really go to school. It's too early to give myself a pat on the back. We'll see over the next couple of weeks how things go. Tune in next time when I tell you what is wrong with this stupid school district!!!! |
